From 1 December 2025, Immigration New Zealand will only accept Police Clearance Certificates (PCCs) issued by a Regional Passport Office of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs for Indian nationals residing in India.

Previously, applicants could submit PCCs issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, or their local police station. However, due to inconsistent formats and authentication challenges, these will no longer be accepted after 1 December 2025.

Please note:

  • Requirements remain unchanged for Indian nationals residing outside India.
  • Requirements also remain unchanged for non-Indian nationals who currently live in, or have previously lived in, India.

If you are an Indian national applying for a visa on or after 1 December 2025, ensure your PCC is requested through the Regional Passport Office. Gathering documentation can take time, so we strongly recommend planning ahead to avoid delays in your visa application.
